The Epistle of Paul: The Book of Romans Series Learning to Be Rooted and Established in The Cross of Christ

Romans Chapter 1 begins Paul’s epistle to the church at Rome by introducing Paul as a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, and separated unto the Gospel of God. This chapter sets the foundation for the Book of Romans by declaring the Gospel of Christ as the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes, and by showing that the righteousness of God is revealed by faith.

In this opening chapter, Paul also reveals the fallen condition of mankind apart from God. Though God has made Himself known, man turned away from Him, rejected His truth, and followed the darkness of sin. Romans Chapter 1 points clearly to man’s need for salvation and brings the heart back to Jesus Christ and The Finished Work of the Cross.
